The statue of Confucius, born on September 28, 551 BC and passing away on April 11, 479 BC, whose personal name was Qiu and courtesy name Zhongni, was a native of Zouyi in the State of Lu during the Spring and Autumn period (modern-day Qufu City, Shandong Province), with ancestral roots in Liiyi in the State of Song (now Wanggonglou Village, Xiayi County, Shangqiu City, Henan Province).
