【Model Overview】 This model is based on a cultural relic from the collection of the Sanmenxia City Museum in Henan Province: a green-glazed pottery owl (chī xiāo). The original artifact, standing on two legs with one wing slightly raised, already exudes a “wonderfully cute” charm that transcends millennia.
While preserving its classic form and historical significance, I’ve added a playful touch—a mischievous **“Wink”** expression! Suddenly, this solemn national treasure transforms into an interactive little sprite for your desk, making it perfect as a tea pet, desktop ornament, or creative gift.
【🌟 Series Preview 🌟】 Stay tuned! This is just the “Wink” version of the owl. I’ve also designed several other fun expressions for it! Head over to my profile to browse and download the rest of the series—collect your very own exclusive “cultural-relic emoji pack” today!
【Painting Inspiration】 The real-object showcase features a paint scheme of **“dark green base with gold accents on select areas (ears, eyes, beak, and claws)”**. This coloring approach not only captures the historical gravitas of bronze and green glaze but also infuses a modern, refined, and subtly luxurious aesthetic. I highly recommend trying this style after printing!
【Printing Recommendations】
- Applicable Technologies: Both FDM and resin-based 3D printing are suitable. For smooth surfaces and ultra-fine details—such as the delicate eye contours in the wink pose—resin printing is strongly recommended.
- Printing Filaments: For FDM, PLA is recommended; for resin, ABS-like materials or high-precision water-washable resins are ideal.
- Layer Height Settings: For FDM, 0.12–0.16 mm is suggested; for resin, 0.05 mm is recommended.
- Support Structures: Supports must be enabled. Pay special attention to supporting the area beneath the beak, the underside of the raised wing, and any suspended sections of the belly to ensure solid support.
- Filling Density: For decorative pieces, 15–20% is recommended. If the piece is intended as a paperweight, you can increase the filling density or even add holes to the base during slicing to enhance stability and weight.
【About Sharing】 This model aims to promote China’s outstanding traditional culture and history in a younger, more engaging way. It’s created and shared by Xiaoyu Loves Printing. Feel free to download and print it for free, and experience the charm of this thousand-year-old cutie!
