📜 Myths vs. Reality (Jurassic Park)

This dinosaur became an icon thanks to the movie Jurassic Park, but the filmmakers took a few artistic liberties that science hasn't confirmed. While in the movie Cresty's species is small like a dog, spits venom, and unfurls a neck frill, the real Dilophosaurus was one of the largest predators of its time (reaching up to 7 meters), was likely not venomous, and there is no skeletal evidence for a frill. This model playfully combines both worlds—keeping the scientifically accurate double crests on its head along with the fan-favorite cinematic frill.

🔍 Model Features

• Double Crest: Its most famous real-life trait and the inspiration for its name! The two elegant ridges on top of its head were used for display and are beautifully highlighted in this cartoon style.
• The Frill: Although a cinematic fiction, it has become an inseparable part of Cresty’s identity. It gives the model a unique personality and an instantly recognizable silhouette.
• Strong Hind Legs: Despite its cute appearance, Cresty stands firmly on its legs, ready to "scurry" across your shelf.

• Layer height: 0.20 mm (0.16 mm also works for finer detail)
• Perimeters: 2
• Infill: 8% gyroid
• Supports: Organic supports required
• Surface effect: Fuzzy skin (optional, user-defined in slicer)

  • Thickness: 0.3 mm
  • The fuzzy skin effect adds a subtle, slightly rough texture resembling dinosaur skin.

⚠ IMPORTANT: Due to the model's anatomy and the delicate neck frill, organic supports are necessary. Please be extremely careful when removing supports around the front limbs and the edges of the frill, as these parts are delicate and could break if handled roughly.

📏 Model Size

• Standard height: 10 cm
• Scaling options: Scaling up works without any issues. Scaling down may make eye assembly or frill details more difficult due to the small parts.

🎨 Color Unit

No color unit (AMS, ACE PRO, etc.) is required. The model is designed for easy printing on single-color machines. The eyes are printed separately and inserted into the head, allowing you to achieve a multi-color look without a filament swapper.

🧩 Assembly

Each eye consists of three parts, which are inserted directly into Cresty’s head and secured with a drop of glue. The assembly process is simple and suitable even for beginners.
