This relief sculpture, “Bamboo Retreat,” uses 3D printing technology to recreate the ideal aesthetic of “a secluded retreat hidden among bamboo” as envisioned by Eastern literati.

The composition is framed by layers of bamboo forest, within which a petite traditional Chinese tiled house is nestled. Amid the swaying bamboo shadows, a winding stone-paved path leads up to the entrance, evoking the reclusive ambiance described in the verse: “I build my hut amid the bustle of the world, yet hear no noise of carriages or horses.”
