Huaiyan Peak is located in Yantong District, Hengyang City, and stands as the foremost of the 72 peaks that make up the 800‑li-long Mount Hengshan—also known as the “First Peak of South Yue.”

The legend goes that when northern geese fly south for the winter, they pause at Huaiyan Peak to rest before continuing their journey northward when spring arrives. This is why Hengyang is also affectionately called “Goose City.”

Although Huaiyan Peak isn’t particularly high, it has long been celebrated in the works of countless historical figures whose poetry and prose frequently drew inspiration from its storied past. The scenery inspired literary masterpieces, while the literary legacy in turn enriched the landscape—thus earning Huaiyan Peak renown far and wide. In his “Preface to the Pavilion of Prince Teng,” Tang Dynasty poet Wang Bo penned the timeless line, “Flocks of wild geese startle in the cold, their cries fading along the shores of Hengyang.” The great poet Du Fu once lived in Hengyang and left behind the poignant verse, “Wild geese from ten thousand miles fly to Hengyang—this year they return north again…” Poets and scholars such as Qian Qi, Liu Yuxi, Liu Zongyuan, Du Xunhe, Wang Anshi, Wen Tianxiang, and Fan Zhongyan all composed enduring works that have captivated readers across generations. It is through this interplay of literature and landscape that Huaiyan Peak’s fame has spread throughout the world. At the end of the Ming Dynasty and the dawn of the Qing Dynasty, the renowned thinker and philosopher Wang Fuzhi was born in Wang Yapeng, at the foot of Huaiyan Peak. Meanwhile, Zhou Dunyi, a leading scholar of Neo-Confucianism during the Northern Song Dynasty, spent his childhood in the home of his maternal uncle in Hengzhou. The rich cultural heritage of this region—where literature, philosophy, and spirituality converged—has ensured that Huaiyan Peak enjoys international acclaim.

As the birthplace of the Buddha of Longevity, Huaiyan Peak sits at the very heart of Hengyang’s urban center, seamlessly blending three major cultural brands: “Wild Goose Culture,” “Religious Culture,” and “Chuanshan Culture.” It is the ideal destination for exploring the origins of Hunan–Xiang culture—and thanks to this peak, Hengyang has earned the elegant nickname “Goose City.” Huaiyan Peak is the sole sacred site dedicated to the “Buddha of Infinite Life” in China’s Sacred Mountain of Longevity; as the saying goes: “If you wish to pay homage to the Holy Emperor at Zhurong Peak, first come to Huaiyan Peak and honor the Buddha of Longevity.”

The “First Peak of South Yue – Fortune Character Light & Shadow Lantern” features a fully circular design. The front showcases a relief sculpture of the Yanfeng Tower, the iconic landmark atop South Yue’s First Peak, while the back displays a luminous “Fu” character. All components are fully printable; the central light uses a single red LED, which can be purchased online according to your specifications. When assembling, ensure the LED bead is aligned directly with the center of both the relief and the “Fu” character.

To ensure optimal visual effects on each side, the model was printed in four separate layers, with the front faces oriented upward. Layer one features multi‑color printing in white, blue, red, and yellow, while the remaining layers can be printed in single or multiple colors according to your personal preference. After printing, the various surfaces are joined together using adhesive (such as 502 glue).
