Richard the Shell-Shocked – Plump Chicken in Sneakers!

Meet Richard! This chubby little chick just hatched, but instead of standard claws, he decided to step out in style with some fresh sneakers. Richard is designed as a multi-part model that anyone can print without a Multi-Material Unit (no-MMU). Just a standard FDM printer and a few colors of filament are all you need.

It's the perfect desk buddy, a funny gift, or a stylish addition to your 3D printed collection.

🟣 No painting, no MMU – The model is split into parts by color. Just print and snap together.

📏 Tested Scales – Default height is 15 cm, but it’s successfully tested at 10 cm (mini) and 20 cm (large).
🔗 Easy Assembly – Parts include guiding pins to ensure a perfect fit.

🖨 Recommended Print Settings

Layer height: 0.20 mm (0.16 mm recommended for sneakers and beak for finer detail)
Infill: 5% Gyroid
Walls: 2–3
Supports: Required (Organic / Tree supports recommended)
Surface effect (optional): Apply Fuzzy Skin to the eggshell parts (point distance 0.3 mm, thickness 0.1 mm) for a realistic egg texture.

🛠 Assembly Instructions

⚠ Important: Before applying glue, perform a "dry fit" to ensure all parts fit together correctly and are positioned properly.

For a permanent bond, standard cyanoacrylate (super glue) is recommended:

👟 Sneakers & Legs: Glue the sneakers to the bottom of the body. The guiding pins will help you set the correct angle.
🥚 Bottom Shell: Seat the yellow body into the lower cracked shell.
👀 Eyes & Face: First, glue the black pupils into the white eye bases. Then, glue the assembled eyes into the head sockets. Finally, attach the orange beak.
🎓 Top Shell: Place the top shell fragment on Richard’s head like a stylish hat and secure it with a drop of glue.
