Overview

This compact modular lamp is designed around a user-supplied 60 mm x 8 mm LED puck light. The main body includes a simple cylindrical diffuser, while the separate outer sleeve slides over the top to add pattern, colour, and a different lighting effect. The cable routes neatly through the base using a rear hole and bottom slot so the lamp sits flat on a table or shelf.

Fully assembled, the lamp measures 110 mm tall and 68 mm in diameter. It is a small decorative light suited to desks, shelves, bedside tables, and ambient room lighting.

Printing Details

This model is designed to print support-free on any FDM printer. The included project uses one 3MF file with 2 print plates: one plate for the lamp base/diffuser body and one plate for the patterned sleeve.

Recommended settings used for the supplied files:

• Layer height: 0.20 mm
• Supports: None
• Brim: Not needed
• Sleeve orientation: Printed upside down
• Sleeve print speed: 100 mm/s nozzle speed to reduce print artefacts on the patterned walls

The lamp base includes a colour change between the base and diffuser section in the 3MF setup. For printers without AMS, users can either insert a manual pause for the colour change or print the whole base in a single colour. The example shown was printed in Bambu Jade White for the diffuser body.

Variations

This release includes one sleeve design. More sleeve variations may be added later, allowing different patterns and lighting looks while reusing the same lamp base.

Assembly

Insert the 60 mm diameter, 8 mm tall LED puck into the base and route the USB cable through the rear hole and bottom cable slot. Then slide the sleeve over the diffuser body.

The sleeve is designed as a semi-loose slide-on fit, so normal print tolerances should work well without adjustment.
