This is a highly material‑efficient waste bin design. I limited the wall thickness to just two layers, achieving sufficient structural integrity while minimizing material waste. Initially, I planned to incorporate large areas of openwork on both sides, but after several print iterations, I found that such thin walls were prone to failure. After some trial and error, I refined the design into a honeycomb lattice pattern—resulting in improved strength and a more aesthetically pleasing finish. The front section, which printed exceptionally stable even at full infill, retained its signature vertical slat design.

Previously, my waste bins tended to collide with the build platform when the Z‑axis descended, causing the printer to lift off the bed. To address this issue, both of these designs feature angled edges that prevent the waste bins from bumping into the build platform at the lowest point of the Z‑axis travel.

I recommend using a waste‑deflector accessory to keep stray debris from flying too far and escaping the waste bin.
