2. Design and Applications

① The cross‑section is slightly elliptical, with a major radius of 19 mm and a minor diameter of 16.5 mm; the inner circle has a diameter of 20 mm, while the narrowest gap between the two halves measures just 1 mm.

② This segmented design ensures a smooth surface—the internal overhanging sections feature triangular pyramidal slopes, eliminating the need for support structures throughout the entire part.

③ The clip is quite convenient for holding various objects; I set the infill at 45%—if it’s too light, it lacks stability, but a slightly heavier infill provides a more satisfying tactile feel.

Tip: The idea had been brewing for quite some time, but when I started designing, I discovered that a similar product was already available on Taobao. In that sense, this can be considered a re‑designed replica.
With the competition deadline approaching, I’m releasing an initial version first—in the future, we could consider adding an internal magnet so that when not in use, the clip can be hung on the refrigerator as a decorative magnet.
