Mid-Autumn Mooncake Keycaps – Fidget Keycaps for Stress Relief

I’ve long been eager to design and create my own fidget keycaps. With the Mid-Autumn Festival just around the corner, I’ve crafted a series of mooncakes to share with all of you—wishing everyone a joyful and happy Mid-Autumn Festival!~

Each keycap takes only 30–40 minutes to print. I’ve designed several variations featuring different top‑cover patterns and custom text motifs, along with a range of mooncakes in diverse colors. For a look that closely mirrors traditional, classic mooncakes, I recommend printing in shades of coffee brown, rich chestnut, or golden hues—but there are also vibrant options like green matcha, golden durian, white snow skin, and purple taro paste. These小巧 and adorable keycaps not only serve as stress-relief fidget tools, but they’d make wonderful little gifts to share with colleagues or family this Mid-Autumn Festival. Recommended Switches:

1. The model does not include mechanical keyboard switches—please purchase them separately. Based on my testing, both tactile switches and silent switches deliver excellent sound performance (both clicky switches and linear switches work well). Personally, I’m quite fond of both types—so feel free to choose according to your personal preference. If you prefer a crisp, bright sound, go for clicky switches like the Blue switch; if you’re drawn to a deeper, more refined tone, consider black/red switches or similar models. Just head over to platforms like Taobao or Pinduoduo to snag some affordable options.

2. Please use standard cross-shaped switches—switches with dust‑proof edges may be tricky to install or could lead to inconsistent key presses.

Installation Tips:

1. Be sure to trim off the four long, slender protrusions inside the keycap cover.

2. Pay close attention to the installation direction: The cross‑shaped structure features one longer side that aligns with the long edge of the switch. I recommend first assembling the top cover and switch without attaching the base—test the mechanism by pressing the keycap to ensure it pops up smoothly before securing it onto the base.

3. If the fit isn’t quite right, you can carefully enlarge or fill any gaps—but if the issue persists, we suggest adjusting the print settings for better results. Sorry about that!

Material Selection:

I tested printing with PLA; PETG has not yet been evaluated. If you encounter issues such as oversized or undersized holes, please feel free to fine‑tune the hole compensation settings accordingly.

This is the ninth model I’ve created while learning 3D modeling using Fusion 360—and while my modeling skills are still evolving, I sincerely apologize if you run into any challenges during printing.
