V2 Update: Slotted design for easy install! Now fits common 4mm or 6mm PTFE dryer tubing for a sealed filament path.

What's New in Version 2:

  • Standard 4mm Support: Added a second set of files with a 3.8mm hole specifically designed for 4mm OD PTFE tubing, which is the most common size in the 3D printing community.
  • Slot Design: I replaced the closed hole with a slot. You no longer need to fully remove the sensor or disconnect wires—just loosen the mounting screws and slide it on!
  • Improved 6mm Fit: The 6mm port variant is now 5.8mm (previously 5.5mm) for a perfect, firm pressure-fit with 6mm OD tubing.
  • Optimized for Strength: Recommended side-orientation printing to prevent the transition between the cylinder and rectangle from snapping due to tube flexing.
  • .3mf & .step Files Included: Includes pre-configured print settings for the Centauri Carbon and raw files for easy remixing.

Main Description:

When printing with hygroscopic filaments like PETG, TPU, or Nylon, exposure to ambient air degrades quality. Even with a dryer, the unsealed gap at the runout sensor allows moisture back in. This flexible TPU adapter seals that pathway on the Elegoo Centauri Carbon, providing a tight, cylindrical port for your dryer's PTFE tube.

I have provided two versions to accommodate different setups:

  1. 4mm Variant: Features a 3.8mm hole for a tight seal on standard 4mm OD tubing.
  2. 6mm Variant: Features a 5.8mm hole for a tight seal on 6mm OD tubing.

Key Features:

  • End-to-End Dryness: Eliminates the air gap between your dryer and the printer.
  • Precision Friction-Fit: Undersized holes (3.8mm and 5.8mm) ensure a leak-proof pressure seal on your tubing.
  • Custom Fit: Designed specifically for the Elegoo Centauri Carbon sensor.
  • Durable & Flexible: TPU construction allows for long-term use and easy installation.

Printing Instructions:

For an airtight seal, this must be printed as a solid piece.

  • Material: TPU (95A shore hardness recommended).
  • Layer Height: 0.2mm.
  • Solid Settings: * Method 1 (Best): Set Walls/Perimeters to 4. This creates a 100% solid part with strong concentric lines.
    • Method 2: Set Infill to 100%.
  • Orientation & Supports: Supports are required. I highly recommend printing the part on its side. Printing it upright can lead to layer separation at the neck if the PTFE tube flexes during a print.
  • Files: Use the provided .3mf files for the best pre-configured settings on the Centauri Carbon.

⚠️ Installation Guide (Version 2)

Step 1: Loosen the Sensor

Thanks to the new slot design, you do not need to unplug the sensor or remove it entirely.

  1. Turn off your printer.
  2. Locate the two screws holding the sensor assembly to the top frame.
  3. Loosen them with an Allen key just enough to create a gap between the sensor and the frame.

Step 2: Install the Adapter

  1. Choose the correct file for your tubing size (4mm or 6mm).
  2. Remove all support material from your print.
  3. Slide the slotted opening of the adapter behind the sensor housing until it sits flush.
  4. Re-tighten the two screws to secure both the sensor and the adapter.
  5. Firmly press your PTFE tube into the port.

Note on 'Airtight' Seal: While this adapter seals the PTFE-to-sensor connection, the sensor housing itself has small factory gaps. This eliminates the main air gap for a significant improvement, though it is not a 100% hermetic system.
