Fabric Design

Custom-made gown design prototype: a fusion of fabric and 3D printing
The fabric feels incredibly soft to the touch, and the crisp, distinct clicking sound echoes when the model parts are gently tapped against each other.
When stretched open on either side, the structure unfolds like delicate flower petals; bend it back, and it smoothly retracts, drawing tight and compact.
Printing Method:
1. I used organza fabric—though you can also experiment with mesh fabrics like mosquito netting, which feature larger openings.
2. I programmed a pause at layer 6; after pausing, simply lay the fabric over the print, secure it tightly around the edges using neodymium magnets, and resume printing.
