After I started tinkering with microcontrollers, I ran into a new challenge: whenever I needed to mount a microcontroller or other electronic components, the oddly shaped header pins, board dimensions, or other such features would often make it incredibly difficult to seamlessly integrate them into my 3D‑printed models…

So I decided to…

start a new project—let’s call it a “new niche”!

My plan is to create a universal adapter for every component I encounter: a standardized, box‑like enclosure that makes it far easier to embed these parts into a wide variety of designs.

I’ve dubbed this series the “PROTOTYPE” line.

Here’s the very first model—and one that I personally use quite frequently: the ESP32-C3 Standard MCU Adapter.

  • Perfectly suited for standard 32‑pin ESP32‑C3 microcontrollers.
  • Extremely easy to print.
  • [Updated July 4, 2025]: Human‑friendly design tweaks—including optimized placement for the RST and BOOT buttons.

I hope this helps you out—feel free to give it a try!
