I recently picked up a Neat™ brand NeatReceipts® portable scanner at a local thrift store. Ostensibly meant for 'on the go' business executives to slip into a laptop case for scanning receipts while on a business trip, this compact 600dpi document scanner was exactly what I was looking for, and for $5 in a thrift store, how could I resist? I'd been looking for a simple, compact document scanner, with the laudable goal of decluttering my life by scanning (and then shredding) all that 'important mail' that keeps piling up -- so I could have more room for collecting outdated pieces of technology from thrift stores.

Hey, life is hard, ok? Don't judge me.

Anyways, the Neat™ NeatReceipts® is.. neat, but it's a little weak in the 'paper pushing' department. Documents exiting out the back of the scanner would 'catch' on even the slightest of uneven surfaces, and cause the paper feed mechanism to stall. Placing the Neat scanner on my desk in front of my keyboard, even the edges of the keys were enough to 'jam' the feed. I found myself lifting the back about 45°, so the paper could go 'up and out' over the key edges, while scanning.

These 3D printed feet do the same thing, hands free. Turning the Neat scanner into a much more usable piece of office kit.
