A few months back i made a 1:2 scale R2D2 water dispenser that has an internal water reservoir.. I've been trying to streamline it so it will be easier for makers to make them.. the video of the R2D2 hit 100k views on social media.. so i thought i should tease those of you who wants to make one..

So introducing the desktop version of it.. with only 22cm height.. big enough to fit in the water bottle dispenser inside of the R2D2.. and tall enough so that any mug or cup would fit the nozzle of the dispenser..
I've always had a water dispenser on my computer table for easy access to water without going to the kitchen every few hours.. so that's when i knew i should make a star wars themed version of the water dispenser..
The assembly is quite simple with the water dispenser and NO 3d printed parts make contact with the water itself..
When i originally made the model.. all the colored parts are printed separately but for the desktop version.. i made it to print in multicolor.. and you'll only need 3 colors.. I printed mine using esun filament.. after printing i coated it with UV clear matte coat to seal the print from the elements as well as water damage.. The dispenser has its own internal powerbank.. so it will last at least a few weeks before needing to recharge it.. i made a whole on the back to access the micro USB port to recharge it..

you can get the water bottle dispenser here from my affiliate link: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_mNSgjSS.. if the link doesn't work for you.. it means that the aliexpress shop doesn't ship to your country.. an alternative is you can image search for the water dispenser.. use the image below to image search.. please make sure that you got the same model as mine.. as you can see my version of the dispenser doesn't have a bulging lip on the nozzle hole..

you'll also need a 1meter long food grade silicone tube to connect the dispenser to your water bottle.. i put mine under my table.. the size of the inner diameter of the tube needs to be 6mm so it would fit the inlet of the water dispenser.. you should find it easily in your local hardware store..

other parts needed is a 7x12mm compression spring and 5mm round magnets.. you can get those in the bambu store..

I also made a cap for the water bottle so its covered so the water is pumped directly from the bottle to the dispenser without touching anything else.. it should fit the 6L and 9L bottle cap..

I hope you'll have fun 3d printing the desktop water dispenser..
