I made this simple speaker grill for my Yamaha HS8 to keep my cat’s curious claws away from the membrane.

It’s 3D printed with no top and bottom layers, so you only see the infill pattern—feel free to play around with the density and pattern to your liking.

There’s about a 7mm gap between the grill and the membrane, which gives it some breathing room but still keeps things protected.

To put it on, I just unscrewed one bolt, loosely screwed it back in with the grill to hold everything in place, then took out the rest of the bolts and put it all back together.

I’ve only tested this with the HS8, but you might be able to use it with the HS7 if you scale it down. Just keep in mind, you’ll need to adjust the holes for the screws (with negative parts) — on the HS8, they’re 4.5mm.
