Humpty Dumpty (Red Rook) | "Through the Looking-Glass" Chess
“When I use a word,” Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, “it means just what I choose it to mean—neither more nor less.”
Alice walked carefully through the woods until she found him sitting cross-legged on the top of a high wall. Arrogant, highly intellectual, and notoriously fragile, he watches the chessboard from his lofty vantage point, ready to lecture anyone who dares approach.
Introducing Humpty Dumpty — a brilliant conversationalist (in his own opinion) and the perfect Guardian of the flanks for your Looking-Glass chessboard.

About the model
Look at his profoundly serious expression, magnified by a distinguished monocle. This model captures Humpty Dumpty in the middle of a stern lecture. He holds a heavy book of words (or perhaps the rules of the game) in one hand, while the other is raised to make a pedantic point. His exquisitely patterned vest and elegant bow tie show he is an egg of the highest status.
Sitting precariously atop a sturdy brick tower, this figure naturally and perfectly takes on the role of the formidable Red Rook.
♟ The Grand Game Continues (Collection)
This scholarly egg serves as a Red Rook in our growing collection of 3D-printable chess pieces based on Lewis Carroll's tale "Through the Looking-Glass".
He joins the commanding Red Queen on the dark side of the board, ready to hold the corners of her kingdom. Follow the profile so you don't miss the upcoming pieces. The game is well underway, and more wonders are yet to be revealed!
⚙ Fragile Printing Tips (Settings)
All the King's horses and all the King's men won't be needed if you follow these rules to ensure a perfect print:
Recommended technology: FDM printing. Use a layer height of 0.16 mm or less (with a 0.4 mm or preferably 0.2 mm nozzle). This resolution is crucial to accurately capture the fine, swirling filigree on his vest, the details of the book, and his haughty facial features.
Scale: The model is scaled by default to fit standard chess proportions as a Rook. You can easily scale it up to use as a larger, standalone collectible piece.
Supports: Tree supports (organic supports) are highly recommended and essential here. Make sure to carefully support his lecturing arm, the hand holding the book, his dangling legs, and the round overhang of his body sitting on the wall. The brick tower itself should print easily.
Place him on the corner square. And whatever you do, try not to provoke him into a great fall!
🧱 The Next Move:
The White Unicorn. The drum beats are echoing through the Looking-Glass forest! A noble and mythical creature is preparing to charge onto the board. Ready to fight for the crown, the elegant and powerful White Unicorn will be the next piece to join our chess set. Follow the profile so you don't miss his majestic arrival!
