I wanted to make a custom frame for the 7.5" TRMNL display sold on Seeed Studio.

I needed a display to hang on the wall behind a standard Italian 3-gang electrical box. I also added holes to screw it directly to the wall if your box is different.

The project consists of a frame, a display holder that keeps it in place and supports the control PCB, 3 buttons to control various functions on the display, and a backplate.

The display support is attached to the frame with 3x6mm flat head screws. The PCB is attached to the display support with brass threaded inserts and M3 screws.

I removed the original buttons from the PCB and connected the button wires to the display.

The backplate has M3 inserts and the frame is secured to it with M3 x 10 countersunk screws.

The buttons are 6x6x4.

In my installation, I created custom firmware with esphome for connection to Home Assistant.
