1. Source of Inspiration 💡
This mechanical ox-head ornament draws its design inspiration from the fusion of cyberpunk aesthetics and traditional Chinese zodiac culture.
- Cultural Core: At the heart of the design lies the “ox,” symbolizing strength, resilience, and a pioneering spirit—perfectly aligning with the auspicious theme of the Year of the Horse, which celebrates the “dragon‑horse spirit” and the “ox’s soaring energy” during the Spring Festival.
- Stylistic Expression: By deconstructing and reimagining classic ox-head motifs alongside industrial elements such as mechanical armor, rivets, and cooling grilles, the piece delivers a striking visual impact that balances raw power with futuristic flair—making it an ideal choice for personalized home decor or thoughtful holiday gifts.
2. Printing Requirements ⚙️
- Printing Process: FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling)
- Recommended Filaments: PLA (easy to print, low cost, ideal for display); PETG (higher strength, better suited for long‑term wall mounting)
- Key Parameters:
- Layer Height: 0.2 mm—striking a balance between fine detail and printing speed.
- Infill Density: 20%–30%—providing sufficient structural integrity while keeping weight in check.
- Nozzle Temperature: 200–220°C (PLA); 220–250°C (PETG).
- Bed Temperature: 50–60°C (PLA); 70–80°C (PETG).
- Printing Speed: 40–60 mm/s—though details can be printed at a slower pace of 20–30 mm/s.
- Supports & Rafts:
- Supports: For overhanging features like the ox horns, ear flaps, and lower jaw, supports are essential. We recommend tree‑like supports with a density of 15%–20%.
- Rafts: Enable a 5–8 mm skirt around the base to enhance first‑layer adhesion—no raft is needed for this model.
3. Assembly Instructions 🛠️
1. Post‑Processing:
- Carefully remove supports using diagonal pliers, then sand any remaining marks with 180–400 grit sandpaper, paying special attention to the tips of the ox horns and intricate facial details.
- If painting is desired, apply a primer coat first, followed by acrylic or model paints for vibrant, professional results.
2. Wall Mounting:
- Double‑sided Adhesive Solution (Recommended): Use high‑performance foam double‑sided tape such as 3M VHB. Clean both the wall surface and the back of the base thoroughly, cut the adhesive to the appropriate size, press firmly for 30 seconds, then let it sit undisturbed for 24 hours before hanging.
- Glue Solution: For smooth surfaces like tiles or glass, use nail‑free adhesive or structural glue; for latex‑painted walls or wooden surfaces, opt for eco‑friendly, high‑strength adhesives. After applying the adhesive, temporarily secure the piece with masking tape, then remove the tape once the adhesive has fully cured after 24–48 hours.
4. Important Notes ⚠️
- Before printing, always verify that your model file is complete to avoid slicing errors.
- Prior to installation, confirm the wall’s load‑bearing capacity to prevent the piece from falling due to excessive weight.
- When installing in spaces like children’s rooms, we recommend extra smoothing and rounding of sharp edges to ensure safety.
