    Inclusive Additive Design Challenge 2025

This model is a single-hand dishwashing tray designed to support users who can only use one hand during washing.  The inspiration comes from inclusive design principles and everyday kitchen accessibility issues. Conventional sinks and dish racks often rely on two-hand operation, which makes tasks such as holding, scrubbing, and rinsing difficult for one-handed users. This design aims to provide stability, grip, and guided positioning to enable safer and more independent dishwashing.  The main body of the tray is designed to be 3D printed in PLA, providing sufficient rigidity and structural support. TPU is used in the contact and interface areas to increase friction, improve grip in wet conditions, and prevent dishes from slipping during use. The geometry is optimised to increase real contact area between the dish and the tray surface while allowing water drainage.  The model can be printed without supports on most FDM printers. PLA is recommended for the structural components, and TPU (or another flexible filament) is recommended for the grip pads. After printing, the TPU parts can be press-fit or attached according to the indicated interfaces. No additional tools are required for assembly.  This design focuses on functionality, ease of fabrication, and scalability, making it suitable for personal use or further development in inclusive product design.
