This dagger was forged from the femur of a Great Frost Mammoth 🦣, a prehistoric beast cloned by the "Iron Horde" clan of post-apocalyptic raiders. The blade’s angular, chipped edges are the result of repeated use in tribal combat, where it was used to hack through bone and armor. The honeycomb-patterned handle is carved from the mammoth’s tusk, providing a secure grip even when covered in blood or ice. The Iron Horde believed the dagger was a "spirit vessel" that carried the mammoth’s primal strength, and they used it in ritual duels to determine clan leadership.
However, the weapon carries a primal curse. The mammoth’s DNA, preserved in the bone, occasionally reactivates, causing the dagger to grow tiny, needle-like bone spurs that pierce the user’s palm. Those who wield it for more than a week begin to experience vivid hallucinations of the mammoth’s life on the Pleistocene tundra, and their skin starts to develop a thick, fur-like coating. Worse, the curse amplifies the user’s aggression, turning them into a mindless berserker. During a 2303 clan raid, a warrior using the dagger killed 12 of his own comrades before being subdued.
The dagger was stolen by a rival clan, who melted down most of the mammoth bone to forge their own weapons. But the original blade was hidden by a shaman, who believed it was the key to reviving the Great Frost Mammoth. Today, it is known as the "Barbarian Bone," a weapon that promises strength, but only to those willing to become the beast.
