Gurthalak, Voice of the Deeps for Dummy 13

It’s been a while since I made my last Word of Warcraft sword for Dummy, so why not make another one? ;)

This time I wanted something post-classic and two hand. Not too many memorable weapons in my opinion. But there is one I use often as a transmog weapon, when most of my outfit is blue-ish (so especially on DK) or red/orange. Gurthalak!

Massive, great looking 2-hand sword dropped by Deathwing himself! Weapon from Cataclysm expansion, so in few different colors, depends on what kind of raid difficulty it was looted. Blue from raid finder, orange/red from normal and purple from heroic. Print the one you like the most! :)

Check my other models for World of Warcraft themed Dummy 13 weapons – The Untamed Blade, Twinblade of the Hakkari, Bloodlord’s Protector, Zin’rokh, Thunderfury, Shalamayne, Blinkstrike, Hailstorm, Lokamir and Lava Dredger! Also Horde and Alliance Battleground banners, both Classic and Retail versions and Treasure Chest / Bountiful Delve Epic Chest :)

How to print this model

Please clean your print plate before the print.

This model was designed with 0.4mm nozzle in mind, don’t try any bigger. Layer height matters. Due to complicated shape of the sword the lower the better. I printed mine with 0.12mm layer height and it came out really nice. Go with 3 walls and 0.12mm layer height or lower. Main body of the sword is printed in two parts, so is the grip.

Assembly

After printing, model require little bit of assembly. Glue both parts of the blade and grip together. Check if the grip going trough your Dummy 13 hand. Use sharp knife if not. Slide the grip through Dummy 13 hand and then add the blade.

IMPORTANT! Be careful when removing tiny pommel support. Place grip print on flat surface and stick sharp knife at 45 degree angle between supported “claw” and the support. Press gently until knife tip will go 1-2mm down. Repeat from other side. Push-out the support.

If you like the model and you want to give it thumbs up, please also consider downloading it. It cost you just one additional click and it’s very important to me. Thank you!

Happy printing! :)
