🎨 Source of Inspiration

This model draws its design inspiration from both the auspicious symbolism of the 2026 Year of the Horse and the romantic, heartwarming charm of unicorns. With its rounded, endearing form, it seamlessly blends the traditional good fortune associated with the Horse zodiac sign with the ethereal elegance of unicorns, giving rise to a delightful “fortune‑attracting, blessing‑bestowing” golden horse figurine. The radiant golden finish not only echoes the Year of the Horse’s cherished wish for “golden horses bringing prosperity,” but also transforms this charming little figure into a soothing desktop ornament—perfectly aligning with young people’s dual desire for both aesthetic appeal and meaningful symbolism.

📐 Model Details

1. Core Design: The overall silhouette is that of a Q‑style unicorn foal, standing on all fours. The mane and single horn are crafted with fluffy, curly, streamlined contours, while the facial features are softly defined, exuding a naturally comforting aura thanks to the gentle smile and closed eyes—a truly healing presence. The rich, golden sheen adds an extra layer of visual allure.
2. Optimal Dimensions: Measuring 8 cm in length, 5 cm in width, and 10 cm in height, this piece strikes the perfect balance between size and portability—ideal for holding in the palm or displaying on a desk.
3. Material Compatibility: While gold‑toned silk PLA is the preferred choice for its glossy finish and细腻 texture, standard gold PLA or PETG can also deliver a full, lustrous golden appearance.
4. Structural Advantages: The limbs are thickened, and the base is reinforced with added material, enhancing overall stability. The curves of the mane and horn have been meticulously optimized, ensuring that any overhanging angles remain below 45°—minimizing support usage while maintaining high print success rates.

🛠️ Printing Requirements

Basic Parameters

- Placement: Stand the model upright (with all four hooves facing downward), allowing the mane and horn’s overhanging surfaces to rest naturally against the build platform, thereby reducing the need for excessive support material.
- Layer Height: Use a standard layer height of 0.16 mm for most areas, while fine‑detail regions such as the mane, horn, and facial features should be printed at 0.12 mm.
- Infill Density: Maintain a main body infill of 15%–20%, with limbs and the base at 25%.
- Wall Thickness: Ensure a wall thickness of 1.8–2.0 mm (with at least three layers of wall structure).
- Print Speed: Set the outer walls and detailed areas to 30–35 mm/s, while filling and support structures should be printed at 50–60 mm/s.

Supports & Skirt Edges

- Supports: Add tree‑like supports only to small overhanging areas at the base of the mane and beneath the chin, using a support density of 10%–12%. Keep the support contact points no larger than 1.0 mm in diameter, enable the “Easy‑Peel Support” setting, and leave a 0.1 mm gap to minimize adhesion.
- Skirt Edges: Attach a 4–5 mm wide skirt around the base (with two layers) to enhance bottom adhesion and prevent warping or lifting along the edges.

Materials & Temperature Settings

- Filament Choice: Gold‑toned silk PLA (preferred) or standard gold PLA.
- Nozzle Temperature: 200–210°C for PLA.
- Bed Temperature: 60–65°C for PLA.
- Cooling Fan: Run the cooling fan at 100% throughout the entire print process (for PLA).

Estimated Print Time

- 0.16 mm Layer Height (Standard Version): Approximately 3.5–4 hours.
- 0.12 mm Layer Height (Fine‑Detail Version): Approximately 5–6 hours.

🧰 Assembly & Post‑Processing Instructions

1. No Assembly Required: The model is fully 3D‑printed in one seamless piece—no separate components to assemble; simply remove it from the printer once printing is complete.
2. Removal & Support Removal: Allow the print to cool for 20–30 minutes after completion before carefully removing it from the build plate. Gently peel away supports from their base using fine‑tipped tweezers—avoid pulling forcefully to prevent damage to the delicate mane details.
3. Sanding & Polishing: Lightly sand any residual support marks and skirt edge imperfections with 400–800 grit sandpaper, then use a polishing cloth to buff the surface, enhancing the silky sheen of the gold‑toned PLA.
4. Enhancement & Finishing: For an even richer golden finish, consider applying a coat of gold acrylic paint or a matte clear coat. You can also add subtle highlights to the eye area to further amplify the model’s playful, adorable charm.
