🧩 The ultimate customizable AMS multicolor calibration tile generator!
Did you just set up a new AMS combo, or are you tuning your filament flushing volumes? This fully parametric OpenSCAD generator creates interlocking multi-color tiles specifically designed to stress-test your multi-material setup. It is the perfect tool for debugging frequent retraction issues, testing color bleeding, and verifying that your AMS runs reliably without production faults.

⚙️ Customizer features:
7 Striking geometric styles: Swap instantly between Jigsaw Puzzle, Curved Flower, Concentric Diamonds, Diamond with Dots, Simple Quadrant Split, Starburst, or a Puzzle Heart.
Dynamic export modes: Render the complete multicolor preview, or export each color region (Color 1 to 4) as a separate individual STL file.
Custom dimensions: Fully customize the overall size and thickness of the tile to speed up or lengthen your calibration test.
Easy slicer assembly: To test an AMS, simply export the individual color parts, load them into your slicer as a single merged multi-part model, assign your filaments, and print.
No-AMS modular printing: Do you want to print a physical puzzle instead? Export the pieces individually, print them in different colors on separate beds, and snap the modular tiles together!
🧠 Behind the design (For makers & moderators)
To ensure perfect gaps and tight tolerances between interlocking multi-material bodies, this generator uses algorithmic 2D boundary masks (jigsaw_mask and flower_region).
By calculating shared trigonometric coordinates, the script splits a single solid diamond tile into 4 mathematically independent, interlocking polygons. When extruded, these pieces fit together with absolute geometric accuracy, eliminating overlapping shell errors in your slicer while testing the physical tolerances of your dual or quad-extrusion setups.
️ Print settings:
Material: PLA. High-contrast colors are recommended to easily spot color bleeding.
Layer height: 0.20mm is perfect for standard AMS calibration.
Supports: STRICTLY NONE.
AMS Slicing: Set render_mode to 1, export, then 2, export, and so on. In your slicer, drag all 4 STL files in at the same time, select ‘Load as a single object with multiple parts’, and paint each part!
