This 3D‑printed replica of an antique square ding is a creative fusion of traditional bronze ding aesthetics and cutting‑edge 3D printing technology. Drawing inspiration from the classic square ding, the design features lightweight, ornate detailing that seamlessly blends Chinese cultural heritage with practical printability. The model faithfully recreates the ding’s iconic double ears, four sturdy legs, and square body, while the body is adorned with bold, three‑dimensional relief carvings of animal-face motifs—richly textured and deeply sculpted to evoke the rustic, time‑worn elegance of Shang and Zhou dynasty bronze dings. The ding’s legs are crafted with segmented, layered patterns, while the ears adopt a simplified, square ring design—preserving the essence of traditional form while avoiding intricate geometries that could complicate printing.

Printed using gray PLA filament, the model delivers crisp, detailed relief work; its wall thickness is consistent throughout, with the legs and body printed as a single, integrated unit—and critical junctions are reinforced with thicker material to enhance structural integrity. The raised relief features a height of just 1–2 mm, allowing it to be printed without the need for additional supports, significantly reducing the risk of print failure. This versatile piece makes an ideal desktop decorative accent or a thoughtful cultural‑themed gift.
