Germinating cat grass in a cat grass cup (typically wheatgrass or barley grass) is very simple. Just follow the steps below: germination occurs in 3–5 days, and full growth takes 5–7 days.
I. Quick Germination Steps
Soak the seeds in clean water for 6–12 hours, until they are slightly swollen.
Add soil to the cat grass cup, filling it to about 70–80% capacity, then gently press it flat.
Sow the seeds evenly over the soil surface, avoiding excessive thickness, as this can lead to mold growth.
Cover with soil / Mist with water
Lightly cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil (about 0.5 cm), or skip the soil altogether and simply mist the surface until moist.
Mist the soil until it is moist but not waterlogged.
Prompt germination by covering the cup with plastic wrap or a lid, then placing it in a cool, well-ventilated spot. Open the cover once daily to allow air circulation.
