Glass Heart - Desk Lamp


Introducing the "Glass Heart - Desk Lamp," a modern and minimal light sculpture designed to create a beautiful refracted light effect. This project was originally conceived using acrylic blocks cut with an xTool laser. To make this design accessible to everyone in the 3D printing community, this is a fully 3D printable version that captures the same elegant spirit.

The design consists of a 3D printable base that houses the Bambu Lab LED Lamp Kit 001. The light shines up through a set of hollow, 3D printed 'blocks', capturing and refracting the light to form a glowing minimal shape.

Required Hardware

- Bambu Lab LED Lamp Kit 001: This lamp is designed specifically for this kit, which includes the LED strip, cable, and power switch. You will need to source this kit separately.

 

Printing Recommendations

- Heart Blocks (Hollow STL):
- Material: Translucent PETG is highly recommended for the best light diffusion and a "glass-like" effect.
- Printing Method: This hollow part should be printed in Vase Mode (Spiralize Outer Contour) with 0% infill.
- Body, Caps, and Covers:
- Material: Standard PLA or PETG.
- Print Profiles: Use the included .3mf profiles for either a 'Fuzzy' or 'Smooth' texture on the Body.
- Parts to Print: Body, Click Cap, Top Part, and the optional Top Cover.


General Settings:
- Nozzle: 0.4mm
- Layer Height: 0.2mm (or as specified in the .3mf profiles).
- Supports: None required.

 

Assembly

1. Print all components: the Body (using your preferred Fuzzy or Smooth profile), the Click Cap, the Top Part, and the optional Top Cover.
2. Print 12 hollow Heart Block pieces in translucent PETG.
3. Install Hardware: Feed the USB cable of the LED kit through the opening in the Body. Place the cable into its designated channel and secure it firmly with the Click Cap. Install the LED kit into its slot.
4. Assemble Lamp: Place the Top Part onto the Body. This piece will hold the heart blocks.
5. Arrange Heart: Carefully arrange the printed Heart Blocks onto the Top Part to form the complete heart shape.
6. (Optional): Place the Top Cover over the heart blocks if you desire a more diffused light or a cleaner look when the lamp is off.
