Cultural Introduction:

The Mid‑Autumn Festival, also known as the “Moon Evening,” “Autumn Festival,” “Mid‑Autumn Festival,” “Eighth Month Festival,” “Eighth Month Gathering,” “Chasing the Moon Festival,” “Playing with the Moon Festival,” “Moon‑Worshipping Festival,” “Daughter’s Day,” or “Reunion Festival,” is a traditional holiday celebrated by numerous ethnic groups across China. It falls on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Lunar Calendar, earning its name because it marks the midpoint of the autumn season. Alongside the Spring Festival, Qingming Festival, and Duanwu Festival, it is regarded as one of the Four Great Traditional Festivals of China.

The Mid‑Autumn Festival has its roots in ancient peoples’ reverence for celestial phenomena, evolving from the practice of moon worship during the early autumn evenings. Over time, it became a festival that blended various customs—such as the Son of Heaven’s evening moon rituals, autumn harvest festivals, moon‑watching traditions, and legends about the Moon Palace—into a harmonious celebration. Its origins can be traced back to the pre–Qin period, gaining widespread popularity during the Han Dynasty, taking definitive form in the Tang Dynasty, and becoming officially established in the Northern Song Dynasty. From the Song Dynasty onward, the Mid‑Autumn Festival flourished, reaching its peak in the Ming and Qing periods. By then, it had become China’s second most important traditional festival after the Spring Festival. On January 1, 2008, the Mid‑Autumn Festival was designated as a national statutory holiday by the State Council. Throughout history, the Mid‑Autumn Festival has been marked by time‑honored customs such as moon worship, moon viewing, mooncake consumption, lantern displays, osmanthus appreciation, and osmanthus wine tasting. Building upon these traditions, local communities have gradually developed a rich array of festive activities—including “selling Rabbit Gods,” “setting up Mid‑Autumn trees,” “performing fire dragon dances,” and “walking under the moon”—each adding unique cultural flair to the celebrations. Over millennia of传承, the Mid‑Autumn Festival has undergone countless transformations and evolutions. Ancient rituals and numerous mythological tales—such as Chang’e flying to the Moon, Wu Gang chopping the osmanthus tree, Emperor Tang Minghuang’s journey to the Moon Palace—as well as many other elements of Chinese traditional culture, have infused the Mid‑Autumn Festival with profound meaning. Poets and scholars have left behind countless poems and writings inspired by this festival, ultimately cementing the spirit of “family reunion” as the core cultural essence of the modern Mid‑Autumn Festival. The Mid‑Autumn Festival celebrates the fullness of the moon as a symbol of human reunion, offering a heartfelt expression of longing for one’s hometown and loved ones, while also praying for bountiful harvests and lasting happiness—a vibrant and invaluable cultural heritage. On May 20, 2006, the Mid‑Autumn Festival was included in the first batch of National Intangible Cultural Heritage listings by the State Council.

1️⃣ As a traditional Chinese festival, we’ve crafted a set of five mooncakes, each reflecting China’s rich history, culture, and time‑honored customs.

2️⃣ The five mooncake flavors are: egg yolk, fresh meatballs, five kernels, longevity fruit (bigen fruit), and wine.

3️⃣ The theme is: May we live long together and share the beauty of the moonlight across a thousand miles; blending the “objects” of mooncake enjoyment with the “emotions” found in traditional cultural poetry.

4️⃣ Each mooncake features 18 circular arcs on its outer surface, with a top pattern height of 0.8 mm—everything is meticulously “rich” in detail.

5️⃣ Across the vast expanse of China, diverse ethnic groups, cultures, and culinary preferences coexist. Our five mooncakes encompass both savory and sweet flavors, catering to meat lovers, vegetarians, those who prefer salty tastes, and those with a penchant for sweetness—and even a touch of alcohol. Together, they create a delightful fusion of textures and flavors. On this Mid‑Autumn Festival, we hope to share the beauty of this moment with friends around the globe: “A bright moon shines upon us all, and when we look back, it feels as though we’ve known each other forever.”

6️⃣ These mooncakes can also serve as an aromatherapy diffuser. To ensure the clearest display of text effects, we recommend using a 0.2 mm nozzle for printing. (PLA users can easily switch materials directly within their slicing software.)
