Hatshepsut — Bust
🇫🇷 Description (French)
This bust portrays Hatshepsut, one of the rare women to have reigned as pharaoh in ancient Egypt during the 18th Dynasty (circa 1479–1458 BC). Her reign was marked by a long era of prosperity, political stability, and ambitious architectural projects—including the renowned mortuary temple at Deir el-Bahari. To solidify her legitimacy in a role traditionally reserved for men, she adopted the iconic attributes of the pharaoh, such as the royal headdress and ceremonial false beard.
This model is inspired by a historical statue depicting her in this official regal guise. The sculpture adheres to the conventions of Egyptian art: an idealized face, a serene and timeless expression, meticulously balanced symmetry, and a posture imbued with authority. The aim is to capture a symbolic representation of power rather than a lifelike portrait, in line with the artistic traditions of the time.
Designed for 3D printing, this bust offers a faithful rendition of an iconic ancient masterpiece, paying homage to a ruler who left an indelible mark on Egypt’s millennial history.
