This 3D‑printed replica of a Northern Wei clay Buddha head artifact faithfully preserves the original appearance it had when unearthed—bring millennia‑old cultural treasures into your home with the power of 3D printing.

The original artifact was excavated in 1979 from the foundation ruins of the Yongning Temple Pagoda in Luoyang, Northern Wei. The Yongning Temple was commissioned by Empress Dowager Hu in the first year of Xiping (516 AD). In the third year of Yongxi (534 AD), a devastating fire broke out after the temple’s wooden pagoda was struck by lightning, causing severe damage to both the pagoda and the Buddhist statues housed within. Thanks to the intense heat of the blaze, which partially vitrified the clay, this exquisite Buddha head has been remarkably well preserved.
