Designed like my Core One version, this is a more rugged vent to mount on the back of your Centauri carbon.

Unlike the Core Ones nice bolt pattern on the back, the Centauri Carbon has a wonky 3 bolt design for mounting, which poses a challenge modeling things to fit.

No offense to other makers, but I was not a huge fan of the dinky tabs on the available rear vents for the centauri carbon. I'm sure it works fine. However. I also don't need an outgoing filter on my vent as I plumb it directly out of my house via a 3" hose and inline fan. I also have a dusty environment and wanted to have a simple filter to keep hair/and larger dust particles out of the chamber when the intake fan turns on. I wanted to keep the M3 bolt option. I also wanted it magnetic w/ 8mm magnets without having to remove the stock M3 screws. I also wanted a gasket for it. I also wanted a version without the intake filter. I accomplished all those things in my design.

So I designed a rear vent that vents to 3" hose (adaptable with other 3-4" adapters on printables) and has a removable cover/filter with for the intake side.

I sized it to fit on my A1 Mini (my workhorse) and printed it out of ASA (which warped slightly but expected), PLA for the cover and filter and TPU for the gasket.

3mf file attached with the different variants.

Printing the Intake filter / Cover:

  • Remove all layers top and bottom and use 30% gyroid infill. This will leave the infill exposed and you get to use the gyroid pattern as your filter, adjustable to however much you'd like (see images attached).
  • 15% infill, 2 layers, 0.6 nozzle, 0.3 layer height is fine for the cover part

Printing the Vent:

  • I just used tree auto supports with organic setting (doesn't have to be crazy)
  • for ASA - do all the ASA things possible, brim, vision miner glue, pre-heated bed to 80c+, no fans on, etc.
  • for a CF filament, (like PET-CF), shouldn't have any problems.
  • Model for the vent includes TWO intake configurations, be sure to split the objects separate the solid bodies before printing (see 3mf file).
  • 15% infill, 2 layers, 0.6 nozzle, 0.3 layer height is fine

Printing the gasket:

  • Be sure to have the bolt recess facing UP so it it's a pocket instead of an overhang
  • TPU 95A is obviously the best choice here
  • Not necessary (recess is built into both) but gasket helps assembly
  • 15% infill, 2 layers, 0.6 nozzle, 0.3 layer height is fine

Assembly

Stock ECC hardware WILL NOT WORK. You will need longer M3 screws. I used the spare M3x7.5 (or 8?) screws off my A1 Mini spool holder

For the magnets (if desired), the pockets are 8mm nominal, but be aware with print shrinkage, they might not work exactly.

Notes

If there is enough interest I’d consider making a swiveling version. Or if you need a 90 facing down instead of up let me know. OR if you need a vent designed for another machine, let me know the bolt pattern and I’ll see if I can adapt one of my designs to it.

Thanks for looking/downloading!
