1: 6 Scale Action Figures – Drawing inspiration from classic American comic book heroes like “The Mighty Thor,” these figures are designed with a modular structure, featuring 8mm sockets integrated throughout the body. This allows for endless customization options, letting you swap out head sculptures, attach specialized armor pieces like chest plates, arm braces, or backpacks, and more.

Spring Festival Beast Set:

Contents:

1. Ying Zhao Head Sculpt (with built‑in LED eye lights) – One of my recent mythological head designs; available for download on my personal portfolio page.

To install the LED eye lights, simply search for “model eye lights” on Taobao—they cost just 3 RMB each. After inserting the lights into the head sculpt, secure them in place with a small amount of adhesive. For the eye area on the front cover, be sure to print a transparent PETG component; otherwise, the light won’t shine through clearly. Once the front and back sockets are aligned, they can be seamlessly merged.

2. Lion Dance Chest Armor (a reworked version of the lion-head helmet originally created for the Bear & Kitten Spring Celebration set).

3. Dual Laser Cannons – These cannons are capable of firing projectile shells, adding a whole new layer of playability. The shells themselves are shaped like simple firecrackers—so you could even call these “firecracker cannons”! (I previously crafted a classic cannon, tweaking the barrel design slightly.)

4. Long Sword ×1

5. Cloud‑Pattern Waist Armor ×1

6. Beast King Shields ×2

7. Sniper Light Gun (a redesigned variant of the sniper rifle I built a while back).

And then there’s the main figure body itself—a complete, fully outfitted set.

When it comes to 3D‑printed spherical joints, one of the biggest challenges is that they tend to loosen over time as you play with the figures. That’s why it’s always a good idea to keep a bottle of joint glue handy—crafters often rely on this trusty adhesive. If you don’t have joint glue on hand, you can also use masking tape or thin adhesive strips to reinforce the joints and increase their damping effect.

Another key consideration: I originally set out to create 1:6 scale action figures that I’d enjoy building and playing with myself—and I figured there might not be many others in the community who share that same passion. So I designed a basic figure body at roughly the same scale. However, when it came to testing the durability of PLA prints, I quickly realized that while PLA is lightweight and easy to work with, it lacks the strength needed for rough handling. During a free‑fall test from a height of 1.2 meters, the right arm—specifically the section printed in white PETG—broke off at the joint. Fortunately, the real beauty of 3D printing lies in its flexibility: if a part breaks, you can simply reprint it at any time, and at a fraction of the cost.
