This is a really easy trap to make, and I have had a lot of success with it. I personally use water at the bottom to drown the mice, but you can only put a little bit of water if you want to release them or some other more humane way. Mice can jump over the sides unless there is something not allowing them to jump.

warning: the mouse_trap_dowel is about 310mm across so it might not fit all printers

what you need:
1x 5 gallon bucket
2x mouse_trap_sides
1x 1/4in dowel or mouse_trap_dowel
1x plastic bottle
some peanut butter (or some other bait)

steps:

  • cut top and bottom off bottle
  • put mosue_trap_sides on sides of bucket (they should snap/slide in place, they might be a bit loose depending on the printer)
  • put bottle on dowel
  • put dowel through holes on both mouse_trap_sides
  • apply peanut butter in a ring on the middle of the outside of the bottle
  • fill bottom of bucket about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way full of water or something to keep the mouse in the bucket

ngl, the only reason I made this was because I'm having this problem as I'm typing this.
