This model is engineered for a high-precision interference fit using the controlled thermal expansion properties of PETG. The assembly process requires thermal activation to function correctly.

How It Works (Required Process)

  • Place the lid onto the main body
  • Heat the printed insert on an induction cooktop at high power for ~12 seconds
  • Immediately press the humidity meter or gauge into position
  • As the part cools, PETG contracts, creating a tight, permanent press fit

Note: Heating is a mandatory step. Room-temperature assembly is not intended.

Recommended Material

  • PETG (required)
    This design is tuned specifically for PETG’s thermal expansion and mechanical behavior. Other materials may not achieve correct fit or tolerance.

Important Notes

  • Printer calibration is mandatory
  • High dimensional accuracy is required
  • Small deviations in flow rate, extrusion consistency, or scaling will directly affect fit
  • Test prints are strongly recommended before final production
  • Do not overheat; excessive heat may cause deformation and loss of tolerance
