Beneath the transparent lampshade, a small sphere slowly ascends, its surface fractured by delicate cracks that radiate countless beams of light—
just like a bullet momentarily frozen in mid‑flight as it pierces through sheet metal, or a soul breaking free from its shackles, unleashing waves of energy and radiant brilliance.
The day I received my “graduation” notice, my computer still had the 12th revision of the facade drawing open.
HR told me the broader economic climate was tough—but all I could feel was a profound sense of daze.
After five years as an architect, having sketched countless CBD designs that never made it to fruition and endured countless all‑nighters, it seemed as though I’d ultimately left behind nothing at all.
Back home, staring at my dusty 3D printer, I suddenly felt the urge to create something for myself—not for a client, not for the building’s floor‑area ratio, but simply for me.
I fired up Grasshopper and distilled the logic I once used to calculate intricate curved surfaces into this tiny, elegant dome.
I named it **“Fission.”**
That undulating grid closely mirrors the ebb and flow of emotions we often suppress deep within our hearts.
Encasing it in a glass dome isn’t just about protection—it’s more like sealing away that fleeting burst of energy, preserving it for eternity.
As the lights pulse in rhythm with the music, I feel that determined, design‑obsessed version of myself returning once again.
Though I no longer build skyscrapers, I’m still crafting spaces—only this time, it’s for that one square meter at the corner of your desk.
