It derives its name from its striking resemblance to a pomegranate fruit.
- Form and Structure: Typically featuring multiple lobes—often five or six—reminiscent of the calyx (receptacle) at the top of a pomegranate. The neck is short and tapered, while the body is round and full, with a flared, outward‑splayed foot.
- Linear Aesthetics: Vessels from the Yongzheng period differ from the rustic simplicity of the Kangxi era and the ornate opulence of the Qianlong reign; their lines are exceptionally soft and refined. The curved contours of the pomegranate vase are smooth yet not overly bulky, with naturally folded petal edges that exude vitality and a sense of rhythmic grace.
