POT LID HOLDER — a compact bracket for pot and pan lids
Everyone has pots, pans, spoons, and all sorts of kitchenware in their kitchen. But when it comes to lids, finding a good place to store them isn’t always easy. They usually end up in the dish rack, bumping into things with their handles, not fitting in, or just getting in the way.
Like many others, I looked online for a solution — and sure, I found dozens of different lid holders. But most of them had issues: they either required too much plastic or just didn’t work the way I wanted. So, I made my own.
My POT LID HOLDER is a series of brackets in different sizes, designed to fit lids from 160 to 320 mm in diameter. They mount on the inside surface of a kitchen cabinet door using standard screws (3 mm in diameter, 10–12 mm long). Two screws are enough for each bracket, but I included a third hole just in case someone wants a bit of extra strength.
The key advantage is ease of use. The lid slides in securely, with no wobble, and all it takes to remove it is lifting it up by just one centimeter. That’s enough to take it out quickly and with one hand. This also means you can mount several brackets on a single door and hang multiple lids close together — they don’t get in the way, don’t scratch each other, and don’t fall off.
I printed the model in PETG-CF — simply because I had that spool lying around. But you can use any plastic you like: PLA, ABS, ASA — anything that prints strong enough will do the job.
I’m really happy with how it turned out. The lids are no longer in the way, they’re easy to reach, and the kitchen is just a little more organized. Hopefully, you’ll find this model useful too.
I installed everything directly in place. But for those who find that tricky, I’ve prepared templates that you can download and print at a 1:1 scale to mark the positions however you like. There’s a separate template for each lid size. The archive is available here .
You can download either the individual STL files or a ready-to-print 3MF layout that includes all 9 brackets.
