HALLOWEEN SPECIEAL!!!!!

Zombies vs. Vampires

Race your undead across the board while walling off your rival.

Players: 2-4

Time: 20–120 minutes

Ages: 8+

Genre: Tactical race / grid movement //building

In this game you will… move your nine pawns (either Zombies or Vampires) from your corner home zone to the opposite corner, using movement dice and clever wall building to open paths for yourself and block your opponent.

Components

  • 1 Grid Board with four 3×3 blue Home Zones in the corners

  • 9 Zombie pawns (one player) (change a difrent colours for more players!)

  • 9 Vampire pawns (one player) (change a difrent colours for more players!)

  • 3 Wall sizes in a shared supply: Size‑1, Size‑2, Size‑3 (straight segments)

  • 1 die For wall decied size (faces: 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3)

  • 1 Action die (faces: 2, 4, 6, Build, ±)

  • Optional dice tower (Pumpkin)

Objective

Be the first player to land all 9 of your pawns inside the opposite 3×3 Home Zone (the corner diagonally across from your start).

Setup

  1. Place the board in the center. Put the wall pieces by size in a shared supply.

  2. Each player chooses a side (Zombies or Vampires) and takes 9 matching pawns. (print in difrent colours for each player difrent ones)

  3. Place all your pawns on your own 3×3 corner Home Zone (one pawn per square).

  4. Choose a first player at random. Keep both dice within reach.

  5. Dice tower are optional just like wall holder !

Walls start off the board; none are placed during setup.

How to Play

Players alternate turns. On your turn, do the following:

  1. Choose Action die (2–4–6 / Build / ±).

  2. Resolve the result (move, build, or remove) as described below.

Movement

  • Move one of your pawns up to the number of steps rolled.

  • Orthogonal only (up, down, left, right). No diagonals.

  • You may not move through walls.

  • Jumping: You may jump over a pawn (yours or an opponent’s) to the next square in a straight line if that square is empty. Each jump counts as 1 step. You cannot jump over walls.

  • Multiple steps may combine walking and jumps until you spend all steps or stop early.

Action die results

  • 2 / 4 / 6 – Move exactly that many steps using the Movement rules above.

  • Build – You must build a wall: roll the Movement die (1–2–3) to determine the wall size you place (Size‑1, Size‑2, or Size‑3 ).

  • ± (Plus/Minus)Either remove one existing wall from anywhere on the board or build a new wall (again roll the Movement die to set the size).

Building & Removing Walls

  • Walls are placed in the grooves between squares (along grid lines), not on top of squares.

  • Placement limits:

  • Walls must fit straight; no overlaps or crossing other walls. If you can place it you can put it!

  • You may place walls anywhere on the board except inside any 3×3 Home Zone.

  • It is legal to trap pawns behind walls.

  • Removing a wall takes the whole segment (of whatever size) back to the supply.

  • Pawns can never move through or over a wall.

Reaching Home

  • When one of your pawns enters any square of the opposite 3×3 Home Zone, leave it there; that pawn is safe .

  • Continue taking turns normally with your remaining pawns until all nine of yours occupy the far Home Zone.

Designer note (optional house rule): If you prefer, after your first pawn reaches the far Home Zone, you may freely switch which die you roll each turn (already allowed by default) or allow a single reroll once per turn—pick one variant for your group.

End of the Game

The game ends immediately when a player has all 9 pawns in the opposite Home Zone. That player wins.

Tie (rare): If both succeed on the same turn, the player who took fewer total turns wins; if still tied, share the victory.

Clarifications

  • Blocking starts: Walls cannot be placed inside the 3×3 corner Home Zones, but may be placed adjacent to them.

  • Dead ends are allowed; being trapped is part of the strategy.

  • Exact count not required: You may stop moving before using all steps.

  • Illegal placement: If you attempt an illegal wall placement, choose a legal spot; if none exists for that size, the wall is not placed.

Hope you will enjoy the game Please leave a like for support my work! :)
