Model Overview
Mini Telescopic Sword No. 6 – Yuhua Sword: Inspired by the iconic Yuhua Sword from the beloved Chinese animated series “Hong Mao Lan Tu,” this sword has been completely redesigned with optimized proportions tailored for 3D printing. To ensure safe and enjoyable use for children, the blade’s edges have been rounded off, while subtle water-themed details add an elegant touch.
This is the sixth installment in my mini telescopic sword series—crafted using Fusion 360 for modeling, printed in one piece without assembly required. With a print time of roughly 2 hours, the dimensions are perfectly suited for both adults and kids to enjoy. I’m excited to continue developing this series!
Parameter Notes: Hand‑drawn supports (please don’t change these 😂), enable brim, and stick to standard settings otherwise.
Notes:
1. It’s best not to attempt printing multiple swords at once—doing so increases the risk of print failures.
2. A warm winter reminder to prevent warping: Clean the print bed, raise the heated bed temperature by 5°C, and apply adhesive or glue as needed.
3. If the first few layers of the model fail to adhere properly and you’re unable to complete the print, gently use a craft knife to carefully trim the excess material.
4. If a particular section of the sword doesn’t extend smoothly, it may be due to slight extrusion issues or layer misalignment—just give it a few more extensions, and it should glide effortlessly.
Acknowledgments (Feel free to skip if you’d like 😘):
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who loves the “Hong Qi” mini telescopic sword series! Your unwavering support made it possible for me to complete this entire collection so quickly—without your encouragement, I might’ve delayed this project until next year. But knowing that many of you were eagerly awaiting these designs, I decided to do my best to finish everything before the Lunar New Year. And finally, I’ve completed it all! It feels amazing—so satisfying and refreshing! I’m incredibly excited about this project—and personally, I’ve gained a lot during the design and production process, which has brought me immense joy. Thank you all for your support! Since there’s still room for improvement in my skills, feel free to share any feedback or suggestions—I’ll do my best to refine and optimize the designs. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Design Insights (Feel free to skip if you’d like 😘):
- When designing the mini telescopic swords, I set a strict print time limit of around 2 hours—just enough time for everyone to grab a quick moment after work to finish up their projects. That’s why the swords aren’t overly long or bulky—they’re more like “compact knives.” But precisely because of their smaller size, they’re perfect for both kids and adults to play with, ideal for everyday handling. Even if there are minor imperfections or print failures, or if the sword gets damaged over time, it won’t weigh heavily on your mind.
- All seven swords were completely redesigned from scratch, starting with rough sketches—not relying on AI, nor simply tracing lines from existing images. While the overall shape was inspired by the original prototypes, the final designs weren’t exact replicas; instead, I adjusted the proportions to create a harmonious balance between form and function. Some of the original designs featured sharp angles, which, while visually striking, could pose challenges during printing—especially when considering safety for children. After careful optimization, those sharp edges were softened, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and printability.
- While faithfully replicating the original designs would’ve been straightforward, I wanted to infuse each sword with personal touches and unique details. However, given the small print size, many intricate details ended up being too fine to capture accurately—so I spent a lot of time balancing between adding detail and simplifying certain elements.
- After digging through old anime archives, I discovered that the appearance of these swords kept evolving throughout the series, with color schemes constantly shifting. Honestly, I had a hard time keeping up with all the changes—but that’s part of the fun!
- To my surprise, I found that the “Hong Qi” anime series is now available on Bilibili in stunning 4K quality.
- I was equally amazed to learn that Bilibili, XHS, and even the official “Hong Qi” account are actively updating content—and doing so quite frequently!
During a company dinner, I casually handed a few test prints to my colleague’s young daughter, and she played with them nonstop. Her enthusiastic approval was the ultimate reward—a feeling of happiness that no amount of platform points could ever match.

“A man must have courage,
He wields his sword and roams the world,
A woman carries the heart of a warrior,
Her gentle spirit fills the mountains,
The Seven Swords unite,
We are like sweet potatoes,
For the sake of a beautiful home,
We watch over one another,
We’ll keep watching over each other forever.”
