This is the Ya Chou Yue, a bronze artifact from the Shang Dynasty. Its design features a massive axe-like form, with intricately carved human and animal faces adorning both sides of the blade, exuding an air of solemn dignity and authority. The vessel derives its name from the two characters “Ya Chou,” symmetrically cast on either side of the axe’s mouth. Today, it is housed in the Shandong Museum. You can apply gold lacquer to simulate the patina of ancient bronze, bringing this millennia‑old cultural treasure into your home.
