Whoever said that the very first 3D-printed model should be a little boat… I’ve been meaning to give it a try, but never quite got around to it—until I stumbled upon the 10th-anniversary contest on MW International!
Well, why not? It’s the perfect opportunity to finally tackle that project—and turn it into something truly special!
My design is a heavily modified little boat, which I’ve affectionately dubbed the “Supreme Cathedral”—a fully autonomous drone carrier.
Compared to the classic 3DBenchy boat, the key modifications include:
- At the hull:
- The two round openings at the bow have been reconfigured into four versatile launch tubes capable of deploying both drones and torpedo-like vehicles.
- A new acoustic grille has been added to the bottom of the vessel, enhancing both functionality and aesthetics.
- A pair of large thrusters has been mounted at the stern, complemented by auxiliary propulsors on either side for improved maneuverability.
- The central open area now houses a sleek, high‑performance speaker enclosure.
- On deck: an additional armored plate has been integrated to reinforce structural integrity while maintaining a clean, streamlined profile.
- In the bridge:
- The interior now accommodates advanced audio circuitry and a compact lithium battery pack, seamlessly blending functionality with a rugged, battle-ready aesthetic.
- The overall design shifts from the cute, Q‑style look of the original to a more aggressive, combat-oriented bridge layout.
- The forward section features an asymmetrical design: the port side boasts a spacious drone launch platform, while the starboard side is armed with fixed weaponry—including a powerful plasma main gun and a quad‑launcher for anti‑ship missiles.
- On the port side, you’ll find a quad‑launcher for drone deployment, along with a USB charging port positioned just below it.
- The starboard side is equipped with intuitive audio controls—power toggle, volume up, and volume down—ensuring easy operation even in the heat of battle.
- The rear of the bridge opens into a vast drone hangar, illuminated from within via strategically placed LED panels on the roof.
- The roof employs magnetic connectors, housing hidden LED lighting strips designed to subtly enhance the interior ambiance while providing functional illumination.

- The acoustic module crafted by my friend Brother Wang is a perfect match—check out this set https://makerworld.com.cn/zh/models/688157. Just search for his ID in the seafood market, and you’ll find this incredible module available at a bargain price! With just a few simple steps, your little boat instantly transforms into a Bluetooth-enabled speaker.
- The circuit integration module is illustrated below:

- Scale: 1/1250

The top deck can house a 10mm magnetic‑controlled LED light, illuminating the interior grand hall with stunning effect:

The top deck requires four 4mm x 2mm cylindrical magnets to securely fasten the cover and power the magnetic lights—after all, I’ve left a dedicated cable channel right next to the magnetic lights, so if you prefer centralized power distribution for your LED lighting setup, you can route the wires through this space, as shown in the red area below.

- Easy to print—no need for multi‑color printing setups.
- No need for complex multi‑material systems.

——Background & Setting——
The “Supreme Cathedral” is an autonomous drone carrier captured by Peak Dynamics near Jupiter’s moon Io.
To this day, no one knows for sure whether its AI pilot is a highly advanced artificial intelligence—or perhaps a digital lifeform in its own right.
“When you see the dark, dense swarm of ‘Blazing Edge’ drones circling the Supreme Cathedral, your mind will instinctively tell you: if you don’t escape now, there’s no way out.”
- Key Specifications:
- Dimensions: 187.5 meters long, 93.75 meters wide, and 150 meters tall.
- Propulsion: a promethium‑based fusion reactor.
- Armament:
- The heavy plasma siege cannon on the starboard side of the bridge—the “Decimation” cannon.
- A 4‑tube missile launcher array on the starboard side of the bridge.
- The drone system:
- Drone launch and recovery tracks on the port side of the bridge—1 return track plus 2 outbound tracks.
- Four drone launch and recovery tracks along the port side—2 return tracks plus 2 outbound tracks.
- Four drone launch and recovery tracks at the bow—4 outbound tracks.
- Six drone launch and recovery tracks at the rear of the bridge—2 return tracks, 2 outbound tracks, and 2 variable‑capacity tracks.
- The “Blazing Edge” air‑superiority drone—designed for maximum agility and precision:
- Dimensions: 7 meters long, 2 meters wide, and 2 meters tall.
- Armament: side‑mounted plasma cannons.
- Combat configuration: 18 aircraft per squadron.
- Maximum payload capacity: 1,420 squadrons.
