In a continuing series of works celebrating Scottish heritage, I present my interpretation of the Royal Banner of Scotland in a square format. A standard house banner ratio (5:4) is forthcoming.
I first created this image in vector format, which was converted to raster for web publication. Lithophane printing is a logical next step for the image.
In my rendition, I've created a lion rampant that follows the heraldic description and historical interpretations of the same. In a deeper dive on the web, you can see different interpretations from the 12th Century to World War I. My work, like these others, is a unique artistic impression.
The print is backlit for the best dramatic effect, and the file can be mirrored on the z-axis in the slicer if you want the image to be a surprise when lit up.
The file is monstrously large for resolution purposes. It won't present a preview, so I included a screenshot from the slicer to give you an idea of detail. One can print in color or pure white. If printing in color, use the image as a guide. The lithophane was created using a grayscale version of my artwork at https://tool.itslitho.com/.
Regarding the frame:
I found a customizable frame here, and it's the one you see in the picture of the actual print.
