Ender 3

Teaser for a direct drive extruder design for the Ender 3 I'm working on.
Goal is to use all stock extruder parts, printed parts, and standard hardware only, not to loose any print volume, and have as little overhang as possible.
I meanwhile have the bracket installed, but did not move the extruder yet. Still waiting for the stepper motor extension cable.
AND:
I'm still trying to find the problem with the bowden set-up that I need to solve with a direct extruder :-)
I'm worried about what the extra moving weight will do. Some comments say that the direct drive will need less torque, but no mention of how much less. Could I exchange the X-axis and extruder steppers? Less moving weight and more power on the X-axis?
