I wanted to enclose my Ender 3 but I didn't want the electronics inside with the heat so I started searching for an external enclosure and found MrClown's case. It was almost what I wanted but not quite so I did a remix. I initially had the fan inside the box (and it does fit) but it seemed too cluttered so I put it outside. In this configuration it really moves air across the board. I also put a switch for lighting on the right side along with an SD card slot. I just bought a cheap micro SD to SD adapter from eBay and it works great. I spaced the motherboard to the front slightly so I can keep the SD connector inside the box. I put in a couple zip tip loops to keep the extra SD adapter cable out of the fan area. I also keep a USB cable plugged in the back. I initially also had my XT60 connector secured inside but I felt that I didn't have enough wire going to my power supply so I just brought it outside of the box and secured it with a zip tie inside so it doesn't pull out. I may extend it someday but it works good the way I have it. It is necessary to extend your Z stop wiring. Either buy a longer cable or just cut and splice in a longer piece. It is not necessary but I did extend all of my stepper cables just to get it further away from the printer. I have included the STEP files so you can customize it however you wish.
