After a few years of toddler abuse our TV remote finally decided to quit, could've bought another one but where's the fun in that?.
Because the board still worked i decided to look for one to print.
Shout out to the original, the holes for the buttons matched perfectly.
Found the original and printed it but noticed a few things I could improve on:
shape and round edges for a more comfortable hold
screws on the sides, personally i think it looks better
small tabs for the battery spring as it was moving around, causing the remote to not function properly
thiccer battery cover to stop the batteries from moving inside the casing.
removed 2 buttons, personally i didnt use the bottom most buttons and our child pressed them occasionally causing unused apps to open.
added a chamfer to the button because it was interacting with the silicone keypad.
print:
1x top, either 2 buttons or 4 buttons (need to cut away 2 buttons on your remote for the 2 button top shell)
1x bottom
1x battery cover
3x button
to assemble use six 3mm socket screws, any length works fine, i used 10mm
battery cover can use a 2mm socket screw, but is optional
printed with PLA on a flashforge 5m with a 0.4mm nozzle
0.2mm layer height
i used supports but not sure they are needed.
15% infill and 2 perimeter layers
Daughter loves it!!
