Why this model:

A few months back, I was looking for ways to organize my son's collection of miniature cars.

I then discovered the  Hotwheel 1:64 stackable stands from ABE 3D which I found at the same time very elegant and practical.

After printing a few of the model variations for the different size of cars, I realized how heterogenous my son's collection was: different sizes, different brands, different collections …

I then discussed for some time with ABE 3D to know if he would be ok to add to his collection some more universal plates. I offered to design them and that he would directly publish them as his own.

After a few more discussion, he finally offered that I would publish my models on my own, as my models where targeting a completely different audience than his (young kids vs miniature cars collectors).

After classifying & measuring all the cars of my son's collection, and an important number of trial & error, I ended-up with a Universal plate for car miniature which can accomodate a variety of cars from different brands & models (Hotwheels, Majorette, Burago and other, for cars scale around 1/43 or 1/64).

Compatibility

Those plates stay compatible with ABE 3D original models, using the same system to link one plate to the other.

For practicality, I joined the support pieces to link plates together to the printing profile (all credit to ABE 3D).

Up to 5 plates can be put on top of each over without issues, starting with 6, I find it less visually pleasing.
