Desktop Paint Rack for miniature paint bottles.

I encountered a problem of limited spacing for the paint bottle on my desk, the only way to neatly organize them is having to buy pre-made stand or paint shelf that is quite costly in my area. So a mentor of mine suggest making a customizable paint rack to hold the paint bottle in place. We measure and testing out a few (27 versions) to come up to this, so I think it would help others that have similar problem like us. 

1. Inspiration

   Our inspiration came from a vertical paint rack from a paint manufacturer, however, the bottle was held vertically, it's very difficult to take out the bottle with much effort. So we made it tilt to a 45 degree side way, would be much easier and natural way for your right hand to pick out the correct bottle. 

    

2. Usage

   As a friend suggest, sometime manufacturer have the label totally cover the bottle, so it would be very difficult to check the paint visually, the only way is to check the bottom of the paint bottle. Also, some would say rotating the paint bottle once in a while help the paint to stay “fresh” longer.  Therefore, we added the hole on the bottom, so you can put the paint bottle upside down (also, reducing vertical space a little bit). 

   

    

    

3. Printing Tips

   Technically, no support was needed as the base will held the whole rack in place when printing. I would recommend to have brim turn on and slowing outer wall speed printing to have a better exterior.  

    

   In case you have problem with the curve on the inner shell, just turn on arachne and make sure Inner/Outer Wall printing order. Total time should be around 3 hours and 80 gram of material needed. 

   

4. Sizing and Customizable

   I will upload bigger diameter (ex: Citadel or other brand) and in total bottle quantity, also Wall mount version in the near future. 

   Also, I'm open to any ideas and adjustment suggestion on your usage experience to make it better.
