It’s a small component designed to secure the filament tip onto the spool, preventing tangles during subsequent prints. It’s easy to print, uses very little filament, and locks in place when you pull the filament tip forward while releasing when you pull it backward. Additionally, it features a curved shape that conforms to the spool’s contour, making it compatible with all brands and types of 1.75 mm filament.
