A very odd april fools prank

Most people take a problem and create a solution.

I am not most people, and in this project, that order has been reversed.

Swivel casters are designed in such a way that they rotate the wheel to always be aligned with the direction of travel. The Contrary Caster, on the other hand, swivels so that the wheel is never facing the right way.

Its innovative design cleverly re-imagines the standard function of a caster wheel in such a way that it performs the opposite job. As a print-in-place wheel, it actually spins quite well, and with a layer of lube, spins better than you will ever need given that it doesn't spin at all when mounted to anything.

For the one in the picture, I have added a “tire” of duct tape to give it better grip and make it more obstinate about going the wrong way.

If you wanted to scale this up to prank someone by replacing one of their office chair wheels, you may need to adjust the contour compensation, because the tolerances are loose at this scale (as well as probably adding more infill if it is to be weight-bearing).
