Aiwan Pavilion is nestled in Qingfeng Gorge on Yue麓 Mountain, in the Yuelu District of Changsha City, Hunan Province, China. Alongside Zuiweng Pavilion in Anhui Province, Huxin Pavilion in Hangzhou, and Taoran Pavilion in Beijing, it is renowned as one of “China’s Four Great Pavilions.”

Construction of Aiwan Pavilion began in the 57th year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1792). Originally known as Hongye Pavilion—or alternatively, Aifeng Pavilion—it was founded by Luo Dian, the then‑Principal of Yue麓 Academy. Later, Bi Yuan, the Governor-General of Huguang, renamed the pavilion after drawing inspiration from the lines in Tang Dynasty poet Du Mu’s seven‑character quatrains, “Far up the cold mountain, a winding stone path ascends; deep within the white clouds, homes are hidden. I halt my carriage to linger, captivated by the maple forest at dusk—its frost‑touched leaves burn brighter than February blossoms.” Another popular folk tale claims that Yuan Mei, inspired by the same line from Du Mu’s “Mountain Journey”—“I halt my carriage to linger, captivated by the maple forest at dusk—its frost‑touched leaves burn brighter than February blossoms”—was the one who officially renamed the pavilion Aiwan Pavilion. However, a self‑written note appended to Luo Dian’s poem “Two Rhymes Composed to Celebrate the Departure of Scholar Shi Zhuotang, Sent as Farewell Verse” reads: “The mountains are ablaze with crimson autumn leaves; at the foot of the hill stands a pavilion, which Governor Bi Qiufan named ‘Aiwan,’ commemorating it with a verse.” This note clearly indicates that it was Bi Yuan who truly bestowed the pavilion with its new name.

For the induction night light, you can purchase magnetic induction lights independently; the device should be no larger than 8.5 cm in diameter and 2.3 cm thick. The magnet measures 20 mm × 10 mm × 2.5 mm.
